Quicksilver’s new Cube UI (hidden preferences ahoy!)

Quicksilver. Pimped.

So before I give you the magical magic fairy dust to make your Quicksilver cube interface as pretty as mine, admit the pimping-ness of this new interface. It’s hot. You want it. Nick has done a bloody marvellous job with this (this is coming from the sole user of the “mini” interface — yes, I’ve been told I was possibly the only person using it).

You’ll need the Cube interface installed first.

Now: Pimp your Quicksilver. Trackback your pimped rides, bitches (my pimpspeak is not strong).

Brilliant! I've been using the “Primer” interface for QS for ages now, so this is a refresshing change. How'd you find the hiddne prefpane, anyhow? Took me a second to figure out how to make the background transparent like you've got it (duh, set the transparency slider on either/both of the background color boxes), but I'm loving this interface. Here's how it looks on my system:

BTW, thanks for VirtueDesktops, Tony! QS and Virtue are a big part of what make my days pass happilly.

Very Nice– it's about time there way a pretty interface that doesn't use as much space for the command. Just a few options please:

 1. Optional get rid of AUTO-CAPS (some of us use that to change commands!)
 2. Fade from a lighter shadow (the current one starts at totally opaque)
 3. Colors?
 4. Shadow to follow cube rotation (not really needed)
 5. Scroll through options via up and down keys: Rotates cube vertically. Shift-Up or Shift-Down reverts to a boring useless list. (This helps many of us who get two common hits)

Beautiful Work, Ed Palma

Clarification:
Shadow is a reference to the shadow on the cube.
Colors…oops– text colors?

Likin it, Ed

Ed, this isn't my work — Nick Jitkoff (the author of Quicksilver) made this UI, so you should direct your suggestions to the official forums @ <http://blacktree.cocoaforge.com/forums/>

Wow! This is one of those things that makes my day!

Please tell: how did you find the pref pane for the Cube interface?

I’m using mini, exclusively. So you weren’t the only one. The reason is, obviously, its mini, its small and doesn’t cover my screen. Albeit this “pimped” cube looks stylish, I keep the old one.
